Medicare Special Enrollment: A Simple Checklist to See if You Qualify


Under normal circumstances, there are only certain times of the year when can join, change, or drop a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) or Prescription Drug Plan (Part D). However there are special circumstances that may qualify you for Medicare Special Enrollment.

Medicare Special Enrollment Periods range from one to three months, depending on the circumstance. If you don’t enroll or change during that window, you may have to wait until the next Medicare Annual Enrollment Period.
