Medicare Online Enrollment

Today’s technology makes researching Medicare online easier than ever. There’s a wealth of information at your fingertips. And, because there’s so much available, it helps to have a clear understanding of what to look for to guide your search. Here are some super helpful resources to make sure you find exactly what you need.

There aren’t different requirements for online Medicare enrollment when compared to enrolling by phone or in-person. Enrolling online is simply another avenue to join Medicare — an avenue that’s easier and more convenient for many people these days. All of the same requirements for enrolling in person, by mail or by phone apply to online Medicare enrollment.

Compare Medicare Advantage Plans Online

Online enrollment in a Medicare plan can be really convenient! You can do it from anywhere and you don’t have to call different carriers to review their plans. If you’re not keen on phone calls or like to do things yourself, online enrollment might be a good fit for you.

Our goal is to make Medicare—especially enrolling in Medicare Advantage online—easier for you. One way we’ve done that is through the easyMed Online Enrollment Portal, which enables secure and convenient online enrollment in Medicare Advantage plans in three stress-free steps: find, compare, enroll.

  • Find Plans in Your Area:
Medicare plans change depending on location, which is why different plans are offered by zip code. After entering your zip code, you will see the Medicare plans easyMed represents in your coverage area.

  • Compare Medicare Advantage plans:
Narrow your results by entering your physicians, medications, preferred network type and any additional benefits you’re looking for.

  • Enroll:
Once you have found a plan that meets your needs, the portal will guide you through the enrollment process.

Tips to Sign Up for Medicare Online

Knowing your priorities for your healthcare plan can help you compare plans with ease. Consider the following questions before your search:

  • What premiums can I afford?
  • Does the plan I choose need to accept my current doctor, or am I comfortable switching doctors?
  • Would it bother me to need a referral from my primary care physician to see a specialist?
  • Do I care about additional benefits such as coverage for dental, hearing, vision, fitness programs, transportation, or chiropractic care?
  • Do I have prescription drugs that require coverage?

Take note of your current prescriptions and physicians.

You can narrow down Medicare plans in your area by including your current physicians (full name and office address are helpful) and prescriptions to find a plan that best fits your needs. Knowing these ahead of time will make your enrollment process faster and easier.

Find your Medicare card.

You’ll need your Medicare number and Part A and B effective dates for your Medicare Advantage online enrollment. As a reminder, this card is red, white and blue in color and has your Medicare Number on it, which you will need when you enroll. This number is not your Social Security Number. Make sure your Medicare card is nearby when you’re ready to enroll.

Online enrollment doesn’t cost a cent
You should not have to pay a fee for online enrollment. In fact, licensed insurance agents and agencies are not allowed to charge fees. Licensed insurance agents are paid by the private insurance companies, which are contracted with the federal government. Legitimate companies offering Medicare plans will not charge you to enroll online, but you will still be responsible for your premiums.
