Theismann played 12 seasons in the NFL, all with the Washington Redskins. His many athletic achievements include leading his team to victory in Super Bowl XVII and being named the league’s Most Valuable Player in 1983. Following his retirement from football, Theismann spent nearly 20 years in the broadcast booth for ESPN’s Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football broadcasts. He is also a renowned public speaker, appearing at leadership events across the country. In addition, his motivational book, “How to be a Champion Every Day: 6 Timeless Keys to Success,” is scheduled for publication in June 2020.
Theismann attended the University of Notre Dame, an institution with a storied football tradition. While there he compiled a record of 20-3-2 as a starter. In 1970, Theismann earned honors as an All American. Even more impressively, he was named an Academic All American in that same year. In 2003, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
